Founder & Chairman, FelCor
In 1991, Tom founded FelCor, one of the nation’s largest hotel real estate investment trusts (REITs) and the nation’s largest owner of full service, all-suite hotels. Currently FelCor’s Chairman, Tom served as President and CEO until 2006. FelCor’s portfolio consists of 87 hotels and resorts across the United States and Canada. FelCor properties are primarily upper upscale hotels and resorts, which are flagged under global brands such as Embassy Suites Hotels®, Doubletree®, Hilton®, Marriott®, Renaissance®, Sheraton®, Westin® and Holiday Inn®.
For 11 years prior to forming FelCor, Tom served as Chairman and CEO of Fiesta Foods, a manufacturer of tortilla chips and taco shells. Earlier Tom held various positions with ShowBiz Pizza Time, an operator and franchisor of family entertainment center/pizza restaurants. From 1986 until 1990, Tom was CEO of Integra, formerly the Brock Hotel Corporation.
Tom currently serves as the Chairman of the American Hospitality & Lodging Association and is a graduate of Washburn University, where he received a Juris Doctorate degree.
