Founder, Outback Steakhouse
Tim is a co-founder of Outback Steakhouse, where he was a senior executive responsible for food and menu oversight during its growth years and subsequent public offering. In 2006, Tim and several partners formed OSI Restaurant Partners, LLC and took the company private. Tim remains a member of senior management of OSI which owns and operates Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill, Roy’s Restaurant and Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar.
Tim began his restaurant career as an assistant chef at the Four Seasons Hotel, and prior to joining Outback Steakhouse, he spent 14 years at various other restaurant groups including Steak & Ale and Copeland’s Cajun CafeÌ.
In 1994, Inc. magazine named Tim its Entrepreneur of the Year. Other honors include the Florida Restaurant Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award, an honorary doctorate from Johnson & Wales University, and induction in the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce Business Hall of Fame. Tim graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Art History.
An avid polo player, Tim’s Outback Polo team has won five U.S. Polo Championships and has won the U.S. Open polo championship three times.
